Another Random Feature
Since I've found something nice in the "Popular 1 Week" section of the Fractal Art Gallery, I thought I'd make a journal about it. Please enjoy!
Good News and The Art Feature to Celebrate !!I've finished my latest rehab and I'm happy to announce that my doctor -
after running some tests and other things like that -
said that I could try and come back to driving a car !!
This is still completely unbelievable for me...
After 2,5 years of continuous and never ending surgeries and rehabs...
The feeling that I'll be able to drive again is absolutely awesome !!
Becoming less independent on others is a great thing, believe me !!
So, immediately after I got the news I've enrolled to the driving school and
I'll have my first lesson next week
WISH ME GOOD LUCK, because I'll need it -
it's sort of a traumatic thing for me since I've been in that horrible car accident,
but I have to do it, otherwise I won't ever do it and I'll sure regret it later.
So send me all the positive thoughts and prayers you can - they do help, I swear !!
And THANK YOU so much for all your support dear friends, it means so much to me
Without your help, your good thoughts and ca
April 2017 Whimsical Winners!April's Whimsical Challenge - the winners
Voting for last month's challenge is now closed.
Results were not quite as decisive as usual this month because fewer people sent in their votes (13 vote notes recieved in total) and their choices were all very different. So we have a few tied results in the mix this time, all of them lovely and well deserving so I'm actually quite happy to be featuring more than three this month! Here are the results:
Whimsical Challenge - winning images
Two works attracted the best vote with 8 vote points each so
Joint first place goes to: :
"of whimsical nature" by
and "Whimsical by Name, Whimsical by Nature" by
In second place with 7 vote points we have

In third place with 6 vote points each
Cpow3 without overlapsAll the needed plugins can be found in Essential Plugin Pack
You need a shape with a hole of same shape in the middle (it doesn't really have to be in the middle, but that is trickier )
Cpow3_d is the ratio of the hole to the whole shape. For example, if the hole is a circle of radius 0.5 and the shape is a circle of radius 1, cpow3_d is 0.5 / 1 = 0.5. If the hole is a square of side 1, and the shape is a square of side 3, cpow3_d is 1 / 3 = 0.333333.
Cpow3_r is equal to 360 / (rotation of hole). Lets see a few examples:
1. A circle with a circular hole. In this case, the hole can be rotated any angle compared to main shape, and it will still remain the same. So cpow3_r can take any value without creating overlaps.
Putting a Gnarl into bTransform
With thanks to tatasz for the initial lesson on bTransform in Fractal Discord, and thanks to bezo97 for testing
For this tutorial, you'll need Apophysis, Chaotica, and the plugins bTransform, tanh, and tile_log. You can acquire all of these plugins in the Essential Plugin Pack
(alternate Essential Plugin Pack link here: Essential Plugin Pack)
It is advisable to turn the brightness up in Apophysis before you start (to roughly 50). This fractal is very hard to see in apo!
First, we need to make a gnarl. My usual method is as follows:
Tx1: waves2 = 0.98-0.998
weight = 100
freq_x = 7
Foci with Zy0rg chatlog - Part 1If you are not familiar with zy0rg, make sure you check his gallery
So, below, we got a not so short log of zy0rg explaining to me and depaz about how to use foci.
